PlayStation 3 (PS3) is Sony’s new video game console, of the
PlayStation (PlayStation and PlayStation 2) series.
This new console was released in Japan (November 11, 2006), in the United States (November 17, 2006), and then in Europe and in other countries on March 23, 2007. There are two configurations of the PlayStation 3; Basic model (20 GB internal hard drive, initial price, $499) and Premium model (60 GB internal hard drive, initial price, $599). The PlayStation offers a video resolutions up to 1080p, backward compatibility with PlaySation (PS1) and PlayStation 2 (PS2) games, has a Blu-ray drive, reads any type of CD, DVD, USB pen and multimedia memory cards (ex. SD), PSP and Internet (with a browser, chat and Email) connectivity, also the Hard Drive, which makes it possible to save any type of file, is Upgradeable with any 2.5" Hard Drive, lastly PS3 offers frequent updates for its firmware. The Joypad (SIXAXIS) is identical to that of PS1 and PS2, but it is a Wireless Controller, with the ability to detect motion in the full six degrees. Difference Between the two configurations: Basic Model – 20 GB internal hard drive, Blu-ray drive, HDMI port, Bluetooth controller and Ethernet / Network. Premium Model – 60 GB internal hard drive, Blu-ray drive, HDMI port, Bluetooth controller and Ethernet / Network, Wi-Fi connectivity and Flash card readers. |
